SOL SOUL SEOUL
Sol Soul Seoul is an organization based in Orange County, CA. Partnered with the Heavenly Dream School in Seoul, South Korea, our mission is to aid teenage North Korean refugees as they adjust to their new homes. Through student-organized music concerts and a dream of bringing courage to these students, we aim to raise awareness and funds to show our support and bring positive change into the lives of these young individuals with so much ahead of them.

About the Co-Founders
Heather Kim (17) and Ariana Kim (16) were born in Seoul, South Korea, spent their childhood in Tampere, Finland, and moved to the United States as they were finishing elementary school. Faced with language barriers, cultural differences, and the various challenges that came with adjusting to a new country, the Kim sisters are familiar with the “foreigner” role as well as the exciting yet daunting feeling of settling into new environments.
During the Summer of 2019, the sisters attended a camp hosted by the Heavenly Dream School (하늘꿈학교) — a school for North Korean refugees — and were provided with the opportunity to build relationships with the students as well as other teenagers from all over South Korea. The camp aimed to bring hope to the future of North Korea, promoting the unification of the Korean peninsula and providing English education to the camp attendees. Moved by this experience, Heather and Ariana worked to find a way in which they could further support the North Korean students they met.
Using their personal backgrounds in the Performing Arts, the Kim sisters aim to raise money and awareness for this cause through benefit concerts featuring student performers, and one day expand Sol-Soul-Seoul to provide more arts-based and English education for the students of their partner organization, the Heavenly Dream School.
